Hello friends!
My name is Susan and I own The Red Door Barntique and I live in Tamaha, OK. I spent over 30 years as a military spouse. My husband retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in November 2017. We traveled the USA in our motorhome for several years after that and we finally settled down in Tamaha in 2019.
My husband and I have two grown daughters and each daughter has 2 boys. Our oldest daughter lives in Valdez, Alaska and our youngest daughter lives in Pauls Valley, OK..
Now that I have the time and space (Hello new She Shed!) I can finally nurture my love of crafting. I spent many years cross stitching but had to give that up due to my eye sight. I have many disabilities (way too many to list) so I had to adjust my hobbies.
When I gave up cross stitching, I began making handmade cards. I found that I could make and send cards and spread some handmade joy! Who doesn’t love to get a handmade card in the mail? I believe we can “Change the world with one handmade card at a time”.
Along with making handmade cards that I could share, I also went back to a hobby that I had as a child. I fell in love with making potholders as a child but these new pot holders aren’t your Grandma’s pot holders. These are Artisan loomed potholders made of 100% cotton. They are very thick and feel wonderful in your hands. I also make the larger 8’ size which are great to use as trivets or pot holders. These are washable and will last a lifetime!
These pot holders and trivets are great gifts for everyone!
