Meet the Maker: Suttill's Sweet Scent
Hi, I'm Jenny, the heart and soul behind Suttill's Sweet Scent! From a young age, I was captivated by the DIY beauty concoctions in Teen magazines, crafting homemade remedies for face and hair. My journey led me to become a hairdresser, and eventually, I found my passion for teaching others how to paint with acrylics.
When the pandemic hit, all my jobs came to a halt. At the studio where I worked, I started creating potpourri and was soon asked to make candles when our candle maker left. Not long after, our bath and body artisan also moved on, and with my background in hairdressing, I had the skills to dive into creating these products.
The Story Behind the Name: My business name, Suttill's Sweet Scent, pays homage to my family's truck farm and our beloved Suttill's Sweet Cider, which was first crafted by my Great Great Great Grandmother when the Cubs won their first World Series. Although the cider is no longer made, I had the joy of crafting it once and wanted to keep that legacy alive.
Today, Suttill's Sweet Scent is a handmade business that creates self-care items. With the help of my youngest daughter Ryder, we use ingredients from our family farm, from honey to herbs, to make all our fragrant products. It’s a happy little accident filled with stories, sass, and a touch of magic as we paint your senses with delightful scents.
