I enjoy working with wood. Twenty years ago I began making furniture including tables, chairs, jewelry boxes, and cutting boards. I teach woodworking classes in the Milwaukee area and have presented on various woodworking topics to Wisconsin woodworking clubs and groups. I am the current president of the Milwaukee Area Woodturners. Now most of my woodworking time is spent turning wood into bowls and other decorative and utilitarian items.
Wood is such a warm, inviting and infinitely interesting medium to work with. No two pieces of wood are the same. When turning a bowl, I look to maximize the beauty of that piece of wood and what it can become. Attention is paid to the grain and characteristics of the wood. A pleasing shape and form is a priority with much attention paid to proportion and lines.
