I was into art since I was a kid - coloring, drawing, sketching, painting, creating. I even went to college to pursue an art career.
However, my path diverged and I ended up going in a completely different direction for quite a while. I ended up in a corporate career, and art was put on the back burner. Once in a while I would schedule out time to do a painting because I refused to put anyone else's art on my walls :)
A couple of years ago, events converged to steer me in a new direction and art was there waiting for me again.
I began sketching and painting again.
Soon after getting back into art, I discovered resin and never looked back. While I still paint for special occasions, and gifts for family, I spend most of my time with resin art.
In early 2022 I began vending at art markets, after my kid's high school art teacher invited students to sell their art. My kid and I bought a tent, tables and a banner with our "Idyllical Art" logo, and set up our first booth in downtown Phoenix for "First Friday". We sold art prints, paintings and some resin art. Since then, we have vended at almost every First Friday, and also at various art markets in the valley.
Creating is my life now and owning my own business is awesome. After working for someone else for 20+ years, I now work for myself. I LOVE this business. The possibilities are endless.
