Hi
My name is Ellie B., I was born in the Midwest, and raised in the West Coast, and now reside in Nevada. In high school, my favorite class was called Creative Crafts. I would spend all my lunches in the classroom with the teacher, then the following year I was the teacher's aide as well in the class called Creative Crafts 2. I spoke with my councilor and convinced her to have the classes and lunch next to each other so I could work 3 hours straight through. I found my love for crafts at that point. After High School I started working for a bank, the Bank had a Christmas BBQ (yes, BBQ for Christmas and any employees that did Arts and Crafts could set up a table to sell their items in the parking lot. Yes, I dabbled in the crafts, and everyone loved what I brought. At that point, I decided to work and start a business at 19 years old, called, Ms. Ellies Originals. That last about a year, and I realized working a Full-Time job and life just didn't give me much time to work on my love~!
Well, 30-some-odd years later, 2 kids grown up and 1 out of high school, and the other about to be out this year.... Ms. Ellie decided to get back into crafts. But there was a twist, as still working fulltime. I started with bead looms and doing them when I had time. I made bead gifts for everyone in the family. I love it, they loved it... I even made things for friends as well. Brought back the part of something I was missing. Then I got sick, seriously sick. Had a heart valve replaced, which caused problems in other places of my body. I went to Cardio Rehab, learned how to eat, and what not to eat, was losing weight, but I was having problem, after problem, after problem. The surgery caused my T12 vertebrae to fracture, nerve damage in my legs and arms, and we noticed that my memory was acting weird. I started to lose words, blacking out, and couldn't remember things... But the one thing that kept me going was the love of my arts, as well as what I did at work. I really did enjoy my job. But after from being on STD, then moved me over to LTD and put me into retirement. So, now I work on crafts when I can. Between, getting 6 shots every few months, 3 in my spine, 2 in arms and one in the hip, some work for a while, others work for a few weeks, and some don't work at all. I have to sit, stand, lay down and rotate these every so often. So, depending on what I am going to work on, is the position I will be for the next 15-20 minutes. When I finish an item, my husband was putting them away. When I forget how to do something, he would help me figure it out, when I don't know what color to use, he helps me choose. He is the best thing in the world. Considering now, my doctors say, I cannot be alone! Which means, we needed something to supplement our income. He thought of starting this awesome Craft business. He is learning to do laser and router cuttings, (which will come later once he perfects it!
So, with that, we now have the business Extraordinaire by Ellie B. Something that represents us both. Ellie B does a wide range of crafts, where things become intertwined among things. Started with beads, then went to resin, then beads and resin together, to making cards, and yes, combining them too. The crafts just keep evolving, to bigger things. The sky is the limit at this point. Just know we are adding items to the store weekly. So, please if you see something you want in a different color, please reach out to us we may just have it! and if not, we will make it.
So, please know, if you see something, but want it a different way, we do make special orders. And if we have never done it before, we will still try! Thank you and have amazing day!
