Joseph Ribak has been a resident of the Bay Area for over 30 years after relocating from LA as a professional photographer. For 12 years he managed a high-end wood furniture store in downtown Mill Valley, CA, where he discovered his love of unique wood furniture design. He designed a line of wood table and floor lamps, which was successfully shown at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Then in 2005, Joe launched his business, Furniture Doctor, diagnosing, repairing and restoring wood furniture, and subsequently earned a certification from Mohawk Finishing for his expertise in wood repair. In his woodshop, Joe enjoys spending time on creating art through different mediums. He has explored painting using oils and the wet-on-wet technique, which then led to creating colorful wall art using epoxy resin, a liquid medium. From there Joe was inspired to design and handmake his new mixed media bowls and vases, using resin, wood and other creative elements, which he has been developing for years. More creations are coming to fruition soon!
