TL:DR

I have always been interested in art. Even as a kid, I loved to draw, write stories, and make things. Now I enjoy exploring different forms of art, especially the ones I have never tried before. I also enjoy reading, gaming, and watching anime.

I love the process of creating art most of all. I love the planning, the rough edges, the trial and error, the blood, sweat, and tears! I love smearing etching plates with ink and cranking the plates through a press, I love trying to mix the right shade of oils on my palette. I love trudging through the pasture in rubber boots to find the right shot, hoping you don't get chiggers and a sunburn. The result may be right, or it may be totally wrong. The fun part is getting there!

It's all technical

I graduated from Cameron University with a BFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design. I have completed an internship at a printing company as a graphic designer and have performed pre-press operations for both an offset press and a digital press. I also have experience working on a commercial printing press, as well as an etching press. I have developed black and white film and developed black and white photography prints. I am no stranger to screen printing and have designed and created t-shirts on a manual four-color press using water-based inks.

I always wondered how the graphic design professionals achieved the result. I have come to learn that graphic design is like trying to create a new, delicious dish to eat. There are many ingredients to choose from, but it is important to choose the right combination of ingredients to create the desired effect. That is why I am so passionate about this profession. Every project is a new adventure and a new problem to be solved.

I am always looking to improve my current skills and to acquire new ones. I am currently learning mold making and casting techniques. I am trying to keep up with today's ever-changing world of web design, so I am continuing to learn CSS and HTML5. JavaScript is also on my list to learn, as well as the Japanese language and how to play the piano. So much to do, so little time!
