3 Paws Design

Welcome to 3 Paws Design. I'm Ani, the creative force behind this venture. Mom taught me to embroider the summer between second and third grade. I got my first camera when I was 12. By the time I was a sophomore in high school, I had converted my tiny bathroom into a darkroom, processing film and making prints while my family slept. I'm obsessed with all things cocker spaniel. I love board games and believe coffee should be a food group. I love to cook and have spent countless weekends over the years creating and photographing recipes for my food blog (Confessions of a Foodie). I've been a newspaper designer, art director, jewelry maker, illustrator, writer, and lifelong crafter.

A couple of years ago, at the age of 12, my beautiful American cocker spaniel received a bone cancer diagnosis. We decided to amputate, giving us another year and a half with our sweet, now three-pawed girl. Around the same time we lost her, I lost my job of 35 years as an art director and designer at my hometown newspaper. It's taken me a while to come to terms with both losses, ultimately deciding to pour my energy into 3 Paws Design, a cottage boutique dedicated to creating fun and meaningful gifts for fellow pet lovers. By channeling my love of design, arts and crafts, and pets into this creative outlet, I hope to honor the memory of my precious soul dog by providing quality goods for both pets and their humans.

Now my days are spent learning to run my own business, designing and hand-finishing all the products you see here, and mastering social media, all while trying to keep an open mind and open heart to whatever God has in store for me on this leg of my journey.
