Since I was young Ive been drawn to art. It probably started with story books. Seeing those beautiful illustrations made me want to make something beautiful as well. Living in the country, spending a lot of time in the woods, on the lake, camping and hiking, influenced me quiet a bit. Of course fairy tales became a source of inspiration. What young girl didn’t love the stories of mermaids, of dragons and knights, even those cute little creatures that hide in the forests and in the small places of our homes. I would say Fantasy is probably one of my greatest influences. The imagination can run wild, anything goes.

  I have also lived in many places and experienced many things. It may have held back my progress moving so often, also because art at the time was not my priority, but it was blessing to be able to experience so many things and to raise my children in so many places. Exploring each place lead to more ideas and new inspirations. Such as the beautiful beaches of Okinawa Japan or the magical forests of Washington State. Both hold wonders and great beauty and have taken their place in my art as well.

I love art in all its forms, therefore I have been unable to stick to one type or another. I have tried many kinds over the years, sometimes because it was simple and I had limited time to devote to my craft. Other times it was something that peaked my interest and I couldn’t pass up the chance to try it for myself.

Our art will grow and change with us, everywhere we go and everything we experience, the people, cultures, our children, our spouse and family members, even what we choose to consume. It all becomes a part of us and we put that into our art.
