Lisa Prus Designs (aka Insomniac Treasures) was created in 2013 following an injury that resulted in many sleepless nights. As a distraction, I leaned heavily into creating jewelry and other artwork and delved into stones and their meanings. Over the years, the variety of jewelry making techniques has grown through trial and error, wonderful friends, and classes, including metalwork, kiln and torch enameling, soldering, and most recently lost wax casting. You'll find that most pieces tend towards a rustic bohemian style and often give off a 70's vibe. I love using rough or more natural looking gemstones with antiqued copper and niobium (great for those with metal allergies) or sterling silver. Occasionally you'll see 14K gold filled or brass jewelry too when the mood strikes.

As if jewelry wasn't enough, I also create stained glass suncatchers, windchimes, recycled art and textile pieces, mosaics, and painted jackets. It's so difficult to pick one medium!

In a nutshell, I create for those drawn to the beauty and power of natural stones, who appreciate quality while embracing the joy of imperfection, who are comforted when old/used things find new life, and for people who just enjoy a bit of quirky imagination.

Glad you've stopped in and can't wait to see what you pick out!

Cheers! ~ Lisa
