Born and raised in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, Kelly's work is heavily influenced by the love for animals, the mountains, and bridges. Bridges had a special meaning for her when she was growing up. She spent time during her teen years going to a footbridge at a lake in her hometown often, it where she found solitude, a place to think and draw, she always found bridges peaceful which is why they became one of her subjects of interest wit her landscape painting.
Kelly enjoyed art at an early age, she always carried a sketch book with her, which lead her to study art at Chamberlayne Jr. College in Boston, Massachusetts where she received her Associates in Applied Science Degree. She majored in Graphic Design/Commercial Art. She was offered a position three days after graduating college and she has been in the design field ever since. She has touch many various aspects of designing and her career has expanded over 30 years. Art came naturally for Kelly.
Her love for rock hounding and art enable to her to be able to combined to loves in a unique art form like no other. She focuses on hand painted/hand crafted items made with agates and mixed medium paintings using acrylic and oil.
Along with her husband and three dogs, Kelly calls Chesapeake, Virginia home now, after moving there in 1989.
Kelly's work aims to capture the feeling of solitude and peacefulness in her Bridges series and realism with her Animals series.
