A little about me: I am absolutely terrible when it comes to filling out bios, so for the "TL;DR/CliffsNotes" crowd, my name is Alyssa and I'm a multi-talented weirdo, a silly wife, and a punk-rock-metalhead/GenX/baseball mom from Jersey with killer dad jokes and a big heart.
The longer version: Originally from NJ but now living in NC, I'm married to my high school sweetheart and have two amazing boys. All three of them keep me on my toes; my husband is a tattoo artist and my sons are at different stages of their lives since they are 13 years apart. I started sewing when I was about 14, which I learned in my Home Economics class in high school. My amazing mom was quite the crafter, and while she did teach me a lot about crafts, cooking, and baking, she couldn't sew a stitch if her life depended on it. I had quite a unique fashion style growing up, and I made most of my own clothes throughout my teenage years. A few years ago, I decided to add embroidery to my ever-growing list of techniques.
I'm sure you've noticed that my shop seems to be geared toward embroidered baseballs but I swear, it didn't start off that way. It all started in 2019 when my youngest son signed up to play baseball. After one of his games, he was awarded the game ball for his actions on and off the field. I knew I wanted to do something special for him to commemorate the occasion, but I wanted it to be unique and something that he could hold onto forever. I thought about it for a while, and glanced at my husband and said, "I know this is gonna sound crazy, but, what if I embroidered it?" I quickly learned that embroidering a used, dirty ball does not stitch out as pretty as a brand new one, but it was still absolutely perfect for what I wanted to accomplish. That one crazy thought turned into making a version for the amazing coaches he had that year and the rest is history. The baseballs quickly became my best selling item, and at the request of my awesome customers, I've since added softballs into the lineup.
Now that we've got that out of the way, I'd like to officially welcome you to StitchCraft Studios! I hope you'll take a look around, and that you'll find a unique gift that you absolutely love. I'm still in the process of adding a variety of items, so please be sure to check back often to see what's new. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
With love,
Alyssa
