The Book Artist

Address

I have been a professional artist for many years, trying different mediums, but always returning to watercolors mostly mixed with colored pencils, ink or conte crayons (a type of pastel.)

Most of my work is in a small format to miniature and when I work like this my pencils and paints last longer and I use less water. I have been using natural glues and stains, natural dyes, collecting vintage laces, found feathers, natural made beads and of course using my handmade papers to paint on, make journals, alter discarded books or use in collage. The more conscious I become about what is good and not so good for our environment, my demand for recycled, re used, or plant-based art supplies are becoming a must.

I only make what I need when it comes to paper, making most of my papers during the spring and summer when I can use leaves and flowers to add to my papers and water that has been collected.

This makes each of these art pieces and journals very special. I hope you will find a painting to treasure to be a part of your home or find that perfect journal to use and love.

This is my art journey right now; I invite you to join me.

Peace and Love,

Dolores
