While I was teaching school as an elementary teacher, I was drawn to creating and making decorative pieces that could be used in one's home. I continued to do both for quite some time. I would win a few awards at craft shows for my creations. The time came for me to retire from teaching, but I continued to create.
Retirement allowed me more time to work at creating. I like to use good-quality materials and make the buyer happy with their purchase. I no longer do craft shows but am constantly learning new methods and ideas to stay in touch with today's trends that buyer's want in these times.
