I have always loved creating and designing. I used to decorate cakes and confections. I paid my way through nursing school by working as a graphic artist designing shirts, signs, etc. Now I live in coastal Georgia and when I wanted to decorate my home with a coastal theme, I was not happy with the prices and quality of the materials found at the big retailers. I started creating coastal designs for my home and was asked by local shops for some of my items. Finally, I decided to bring my love of creating different things together. Mostly I make coastal decor, which includes door signs, altered bottles, shell ornaments, topiaries, and coasters. Occasionally, I make t-shirts. Most of these are coastal or holiday related.
I am an environmental friendly small business. I use materials made in the USA as often as possible, such as paints, vinyl, etc. I use recycled materials that would otherwise end up in the oceans or landfills. For example, my cloth pumpkins are made from scrap material, cardboard, and plastic. I do not purchase items from the dollar store and remake them. This helps reduce my cost that I am able to pass on to the purchaser and reduces waste.
My husband and I find and clean all sea shells and driftwood using environmentally safe processes. No live sand dollars or shells with live creatures are used in my creations. I do not purchase shells from the big retailers.
