Hi! My name is Caitlin, but you can also call me Lin.
Here at my store, you will find one-of-a-kind magnets and textured canvas paintings. My magnets are made by collaging images found in magazines onto kitchen tile. I search for fun cutouts and enjoy combining them into a unique design. My paintings are created with many layers of mixed media, paint, and usually some bright colors.
Putting a visual to the thoughts and feelings that I lack language for is a process that drives me. Incorporating everyday items such as plastic wrap and tissue paper into my paintings adds an element of surprise to my process and is a part of my painting technique. My love of drawing and painting led me to study at Maine College of Art & Design, where I earned my BFA in 2008. I find inspiration most often in nature, science, and the challenge of making the mundane into something more.
When I'm not creating art, I spend time hula hooping, there are no bounds to the new tricks and combinations to be learned. I can often be found hanging out with my muse and moral support cat, Merlin, my other cutie cat, Toes, and my husband, Alex. I also love going for long walks around the city of Providence and getting purposefully lost amongst the bricks and old New England houses.
