This buckle is a little larger than most of my buckles, it measures 2 1/4' by 3 1/4" and is 1/4" in thickness.A real special feature of this piece is that it has two crystal filled vugs in the buckle. A vug is a cavity that is usually filled with crystals, that's the reason for the larger size, so I could include the vugs in the buckle.The backing as usual is my handmade german silver backing that is signed,dated and has the stones name inscribed on the back, it will accept a belt up to 1 1/2" in width. German Silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle,brass,and zinc and I use it instead of silver because it is stronger, less expensive and it doesn't tarnish as does silver.

How it’s Made
I have been making my buckles for approximately 45 years. I cut shape and polish all my pieces and fabricate my belt buckle backings using German silver or as it's also called nickle silver. German silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle,brass, and zinc and I use it because it is stronger,less expensive and it doesn't tarnish as does silver. All my buckles take around 20 different steps to complete and the one's with silver insets take many more steps.
