Intarsia is an art form to make pictures from wood popular in Italy in the medieval times (1400-1600) and with a resurgence in modern times. The wood is hand cut on the scroll saw and then shaped for a realistic 3-D look. This grizzly bear themed intarsia is designed as a wall hanging and has a hanger on the back to that purpose. The woods are walnut and maple. It is about 11” tall and 9 1/2” wide. This would make a nice addition to your decor or as a gift for a bear collector or aficionado friend.

How it’s Made
This is a hand made item with all parts cut on a scrollsaw and then risered and shaped for a realistic 3-D look. The woods in this bear are mostly walnut giving him a deep brown color. The bear is finished with multiple coats of clear finish.
