Meet the Maker

Hi, my name is Annette, a passionate artisan whose heart beats to the rhythm of the enchanting world of fiber arts. With each delicate poke of the needle or gentle caress of wet fibers, I felt dreams into reality, bringing forth creations that dance with color and texture.

From the moment I discovered the magic of needle felting, I was hooked. The simple act of intertwining wool fibers with a sharp needle opened a gateway to a realm where imagination knows no bounds. With each project, whether it's sculpting a whimsical creature or crafting a breathtaking landscape, I find myself lost in a world of endless possibilities, where even the softest strands of wool hold the potential to become something extraordinary.

But my love affair with fiber doesn't stop there. Wet felting, with its soothing rhythm of water, soap, and gentle agitation, calls to me like a siren song. There's something utterly captivating about watching loose fibers transform into a cohesive fabric, as if by some ancient alchemy. With every dip into the warm water and every press of my hands, I feel a connection to generations of artisans who have practiced this craft before me.

In my hands, fibers become more than just materialsā€”they become conduits for storytelling. Each strand of wool carries within it a tale waiting to be spun, whether it's the vibrant hues of a summer meadow or the muted tones of a misty morning. My imagination knows no limits as I blend colors, textures, and techniques to breathe life into my creations.

But perhaps what sets me apart is not just my skill with fiber, but my vivid imagination that knows no bounds. I see the world through a kaleidoscope of colors and textures, finding inspiration in the most unexpected places. A walk in the woods becomes a treasure hunt for the perfect shade of green, while a stroll along the beach ignites visions of swirling waves and sandy shores.

With each project, I invite others to join me on a journey through the realms of whimsy and wonder. Whether it's through workshops, tutorials, or simply sharing my work online, I strive to inspire others to unleash their creativity and explore the limitless possibilities of fiber arts.

So come, step into my world, where needle and wet felting are more than just craftsā€”they're gateways to a universe where dreams take shape and imagination knows no bounds. Together, let's embark on a journey filled with color, texture, and endless possibilities.

How itā€™s Made

  • First, the observation in nature. I have a wonderful view from my porch and love to watch the animals that visit the area.

  • Second, the story that I create around my observation. Let me paint you a picture...

"Once upon a time, a vibrant Blue Jay named Jazz perched atop a weathered piece of wood in a lush woodland grove. The early morning sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled patterns on the forest floor below.

With his sleek blue feathers and bright eyes, the Blue Jay surveyed his domain with curiosity and wonder. He loved exploring the nooks and crannies of the forest, always looking for new treasures to discover.

As he perched on his favorite spot, Jazz noticed a flash of yellow amidst the green foliage. Intrigued, he hopped closer, his keen eyes fixing on a solitary sunflower swaying gently in the breeze. Its golden petals reached eagerly towards the sky, basking in the warmth of the morning sun.

Hopping gracefully down from his perch, Jazz landed on the soft earth beside the sunflower, his claws sinking into the damp soil. He leaned in close, inhaling the sweet fragrance that wafted from the flower's petals, filling his senses with joy.

A contented sigh escaped his chest, and he spread his wings and took flight, leaving the sunflower behind but carrying its beauty away in his heart. As he soared through the forest canopy, he knew that he would always cherish the memory of the golden bloom that had brightened his day and filled his soul with wonder."

  • Third, the creation of the pattern, and wire armature.

  • After that, the real work begins. In many hours of creation, I don't like to call it work, I will build the body and try different ways of needle- and wet-felting the feathers. It is a process that takes quite a bit of time and is always an adventure. I try to capture the essence of the picture I witnessed in nature and the story in my heart.
