Her image was discovered on a whimsical panel in Kauai, a treasure too lovely to leave behind. I resized it, printed it onto soft linen, and sealed it with a protective finish to ensure her beauty remains as timeless as the tides. Now, she graces the front of this one-of-a-kind bag, forming a deep, sturdy pocket ready to cradle your tablet, journal, or even a weathered book of Mermaid Potions.
To echo her undersea palette, I trimmed the pocket and back zipper with a wave of multicolored jumbo rickrack—a joyful swirl of motion and color. For an added dash of softness and style, I’ve included detachable ties that let you customize her look to suit your mood.
True to her nature, La Serena loves the spotlight. And just in case her radiant image on the tote doesn’t turn enough heads, I’ve created a matching pouch and a smaller shoulder bag, each infused with her ocean-kissed charm.

Meet the Maker
My mother always told me, “a gift of the hand is a gift of the heart.”
When I’m at the sewing machine, my thoughts are for the women who will eventually use my products.
Are you a bride purchasing makeup bags for your attendants? Perhaps you’re a recent graduate just starting a career and needing a colorful pouch to tuck into your purse or briefcase. Or maybe you’re a teenager who wants something cute to carry your air-pods and some cash.
Whoever you are, I imagine sewing for you and imbue what I make with love and hope for your pleasure.
My items are truly handmade. I limit the number of projects that I sew at a time, and I don’t keep an inventory of fabric, so each design comes in limited quantities.

How It’s Made
Each and every one of my bags, pouches, and totes is a labor of love.
I use 100% cotton for the outer fabric, the lining, and the woven interfacing. I choose fabrics that speak to me—whether whimsical, vibrant, or just uniquely charming. They're never selected at random.
A lot of time goes into planning the perfect lining—whether it blends harmoniously with the outer fabric or creates a bold, contrasting pop of color.
Even zippers must attend an audition! I love taking apart two zippers and combining them into a two-toned zipper, often with a third color for the zipper pull. This extra bit of effort creates a one-of-a-kind piece. I hope it makes you smile every time you zip and unzip your bag.
