Gorgeous lab grown Ruby pendant suspended on a genuine braided black leather cord.
This artisan pendant features textured and hammered effects with 14k gold filled horizontal lines. Uniquely beautiful in design and simplicity!
This pendant has a nice solid weighted feel to it and the bail can accommodate a large size chain that you may have (3 mm), if you wanted to switch out for a different look.
The deep red ruby is 6 mm’s in size and set in a Fine Silver bezel.
Why Argentium Silver? It is a step above traditional Sterling Silver, brighter, whiter and much more tarnish resistant. It is a gorgeous metal, I love to work with it.
Lab grown rubies have all of the same gorgeous characteristics of an “earth grown” Ruby with a much shorter creation time and at a more affordable price point. They are made using Corundum with the flame fusion method and its chemical properties are identical to those of natural rubies.
The black genuine braided leather cord is 3 mm’s thick and measures 18”s with a sterling silver lobster clasp.

Meet the Maker
Hello from Sherrye in sunny Florida! Thank you for popping in our jewelry boutique. I say “our” because my husband occasionally creates rings and provides inspiration. My jewelry creation journey began about 15 years or so ago. I started out learning to bead, wire wrap and then silver and metal smithing. My journey is never static as I continue to learn from many talented artists along the way.
Why do I love making jewelry? It is similar to the transformation that occurs from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly and its stages along the way. So goes the same with jewelry, beginning with raw materials at the work bench and whether with an intended design or a serendipitous outcome, the piece transforms into a unique creation. I love thinking about the exciting places my jewelry travels to after it has been purchased.
My style is contemporary and uncomplicated with clean lines. I really like contrasting materials and textures, shiny and matte, smooth and textured, etc. Currently, my favorite precious metals are Argentium Silver and Fine Silver, with gold and gemstone accents.
I am excited to be a part of the Goimagine community and the great work they are doing with children’s needs.
How it’s Made
I hand cut plain Argentium Silver sheet to the desired size and used both a file and dremel to file, smooth and round all of the edges. I used my special texturizing hammer to apply the horizontal subtle textured lines.
The 14k gold filled wire has been wrapped around and soldered onto the silver. I made the bail using the same technique as the main pendant and soldered that onto to the back side. The bail is large enough to accommodate a variety of chains or cords. Lastly, the bezel was soldered onto the front side and I then set the ruby. And as always cleaned and filed the silver.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR JEWELRY: Avoid sprays, lotions or cleaning products near jewelry as they can cause tarnishing. Remove before bathing and swimming. Remove jewelry before going to bed and rigorous exercise. Keep jewelry stored separately from other pieces, in a cool, dark place using jewelry boxes and pouches. Sunshine polishing cloths work great to clean and brighten up gold and silver. Use a soft dry clean cloth to remove smudges on gemstones.
PROCESSING and SHIPPING TIME: All items are shipped first class with tracking, sent in a gift box within a bubble lined mailing envelope. At times, I am able to mail out on the first day of purchase, otherwise, it will be 1-2 days after the day of purchase.
RETURN POLICY: Returns and cancellations are accepted with the following conditions:
*Please contact me within 5 days of delivery of your purchase.
*Ship item back within 7 days after I respond back to you, via first class shipping with a tracking number. Buyers are responsible for return postage with secure return packaging, preferably within the same gift box in which it was shipped, to help prevent damage during the shipping process.
*If the item is not returned in its original condition, I will not be able to refund your full purchase price.
