Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
Crafted from a smooth slab of stoneware clay, this dish is shaped by hand and features a ceramic transfer of a detailed Lab illustration. Colorful underglaze patterns are added around the portrait, then the piece is bisque fired. A clear glaze is applied to seal and enhance the imagery, followed by a final glaze firing at 2300°F. Each dish is unique and full of personality—just like a Lab.
