Such a dainty and glowy one!

Labradorite is a captivating feldspar mineral known for its stunning play of colors, often referred to as labradorescence or schiller effect. This iridescence can display vibrant hues of blue, green, gold, purple, and sometimes even more colors, making labradorite a favorite among gemstone enthusiasts and collectors. Its base color is typically a light to dark gray-green, black, or brown, and it has a vitreous luster.

Labradorite is celebrated for its powerful metaphysical properties. It is believed to be a stone of transformation, enhancing strength of will and inner worth. Labradorite is thought to impart a sense of magic, aiding in the awakening of one's inner spirit, intuition, and psychic abilities. It's known to provide protection against negative energies, aiding in creating a shielding force throughout the aura and strengthening natural energies from within.

Labradorite is primarily associated with the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) and the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha). It is said to stimulate the Third Eye Chakra, enhancing intuition and psychic abilities, and to balance the Throat Chakra, promoting clear communication and self-expression.

Labradorite is associated with several zodiac signs, including Leo, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. For Leos, it helps in bringing out their inherent creativity and strength. For Scorpios, it enhances their innate intuition and protective instincts. For Sagittarius, it supports their quest for knowledge and adventure.

Labradorite is found in several locations around the world. Some of the most notable sources include:

- Canada: Particularly in the Labrador Peninsula, where it was first discovered and from which it derives its name.

- Finland: Known for a variant called Spectrolite, which exhibits an exceptionally vivid labradorescence.

- Russia: Particularly in the Ural Mountains.

- Madagascar: Known for producing high-quality labradorite with a wide range of colors.

- United States: Specifically in states like Oregon and California.

Each of these regions contributes to the global supply of labradorite, offering unique variations in color and quality that make this gemstone a favorite among collectors and spiritual enthusiasts alike.

Meet the Maker

Hi there! My name is Jami Schwager and I live in a small town in Northeastern Illinois named Johnsburg. We are located near the Chain of Lakes waterway and we (I am including my husband and captain of our vessel) LOVE boating on our Bayliner Cabin Cruiser in the summers! When I’m not on my boat you can usually find me making jewelry. In 2022 I decided to make bracelets out of gemstones for the women in my family for Christmas gifts. I made them each a bracelet using their birthstones. I have been obsessed with making jewelry ever since! I enjoy coming up with new designs and discovering the beauty in each new gemstone I work with. Now I consider making jewelry my passion. I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them. Thanks so much for checking out my shop!
