Mjölnir, hammer of Thor. Forged by the dwarven brothers Brokkr and Sindri.When I first started blacksmithing, I did it outdoors, in the elements. I would always check the weather report, as fire and rain don't mix. But inevitably, I would find myself, on occasion, rushing to get something done before the storm rolled in. As the lightning would flash, and the thunder boom, I remembered the norse mythology I read as a child. The sparks were lightning, and the sound thunder. Mighty Thor was beating his anvil!
So I took a piece of a billet that I had made for a knife, and made my first Mjölnir. I wore it for a while, but it didn't feel right. Couldn't put my finger on why, but then it hit me. The weapon of the thunder god is not some dainty charm. It should be big, bold, thunderous!
This hand forged Mjölnir is 3 1/2 inches tall, 2 inches wide and weighs 2 1/2 ounces. It features your choice of rune, the magical writing if the norse. Just let me know what you would like when ordering. Pick one from the picture, or let me know what you are in to, and I'll see what I can do. (The one pictured is the rune for Thor.) It is a bold statement for a bold soul. Forged by me for a kindred spirit.
