About this Product

This necklace came as an idea from the cracked glass beads I purchased. I imagined them linked on golden chains and with a large focal piece, which I finally decided on the spiral sun. Jump rings were crafted between each bead loop to make the piece open and airy, and these beads are high quality glass beads, not acrylic beads. Maximum length is 20" and a lobster claw clasp keeps this piece securely on your neck. The large center focus pendant is held in one place and looped through a jump ring to keep it from moving around and help to center weight the pendant for a lovely balanced look. More necklaces and jewelry will be forthcoming with other colors in these cracked glass beads, keep an eye out for them. The overall size of the center pendant is 2.25 x 2.25" measured from the top of each sun beam to the bottom and also side to side measures the same. I enjoyed so much creating this necklace it's special to me and I hope you will find it to be the same.

Meet the Maker

From the time I was very young, I had an eagerness to create beautiful things. I rode my bike up to the nearby library to find books on how to knit, crochet, and embroider. I saved my allowance money to be able to buy supplies, and thusly my creativity began to blossom. I taught myself to knit, and to crochet, and began making items for my parents and myself. This was around age 12 or so, and my interest in crafting only grew from there.

As time progressed, I taught myself how to spin wool, and I created beautiful art yarn and also made items from this yarn. I even dabbled in paper crafting and watercolors, enjoying each new thing I would learn. My love for jewelry and accessories came around at an early age too! I was making headbands out of yarn to wear to school, and necklaces from found objects and string. It seemed my mind was always working on the next creative thing I wanted to do. After having raised a child and had a 30 year career as a nurse, once I retired from that I went right back to what I love most... crafting .

This time I wanted to learn jewelry making. With the help of YouTube videos and blogs from those much more skilled than I am, I self taught jewelry creation and even wire work, although my experience with that aspect (wire work) is still growing. I studied Pinterest, to see what others were making, and attempted to figure out HOW they are made, and another glorious path of creativity was now open to me. Creating jewelry and accessories comes as naturally to me as my love for fiber artistry. You will also see some items in which I have combined my love of fiber artistry with jewelry and accessory creations, I really love the mix of fabrics with shimmering beads and chains. I hope you enjoy my creations.
