About this Product
This hand forged leaf dish started as a sheet of steel. I cut the shape by hand, then add each each line with hammer and chisel. The polishing takes the most time. The better the polish, the more interesting the colors when flame painted. The colors are the natural result of oxides that form on the surface when heated. I have a general idea what I am going for, but there is as much art as there is science. Luck doesn't hurt either.
This hand crafted leaf works as a ring dish, candle dish, of a decoration in its own right. As I use a spray lacquer to preserve the shine I do not recommend it for food.
