About this Product

This is a very cool design. I have made a substantial 1.5" band in brown leather that is stamped with multiple skull designs and then decorated it with loads of skull hardware! No two will be the same, truly one of a kind. I use only high quality leather both for durability and your dogs comfort. I also narrow the collar to a 1" buckle for a comfortable fit for your companion. I have attached a d-ring to the back of the collar so you can attach the leash to the back and still show off the collar when you walk. If you notice in the picture the band is embossed with a skull where the d-ring attaches. Lots of bells and whistles on this one:) The hardware is copper, brass and nickel to match all the different skull materials. some of the small skulls have rhinestone eyes as well. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please make sure to get a very accurate neck measurement before ordering. Measure your dogs neck with a tape measure where you like his/her collar to rest. Give me that measurement in inches. Meet the Maker

In 2009 I purchased a collar for my German Shepherd. It was a simple leather band with pastel flower hardware. I wanted people to recognize that she was a girl. Now...I do not have an obsessive personality BUT from there I went crazy! I bought her a collar for every day of the week. I don't buy myself food but my dogs are coddled. Anyway after realizing that financially I couldn't keep up with this addiction I decided I would see if I could learn the craft myself. I did! And I'm good at it. I am meticulous at what I do because I love and care about it. I promise to put the same love and care into your pets collar.

How it’s Made

Your dogs new collar starts as a large cow hide. I cut the strap by hand. I do all the calculations(that don't seem like they should be that involved--but they are;) and cut the length to size. After deciding on the buckle design the end of the strap is skived down. The edges are beveled and burnished. Embossing and brand stamping are done during this stage as well. Straps are dyed by me, some colors I mix by hand. The strap(s) are then left to dry for several, to, up to twelve hours. I buff the excess color from the straps to avoid color transfer to your pups neck. I seal the collars to help protect against the elements. Once I have reached this stage I can finally begin to assemble the piece. I will need to carefully measure, mark and punch holes to attach all of the hardware. If the collar is lined with a soft lambskin I can then sew the padded lambskin on by hand. I do have a machine but prefer the look and quality of hand sewn work. I inspect for quality and measure when complete to make sure the size is accurate. Then I send it to my customer to look beautiful or handsome!!
