About this Product

J/B SIGNATURE BELTS THIS BELT LINE IS: Quite possibly, the finest leather belt in the world. I know you are wondering what makes this belt any better than any others. First, let’s talk about the leather that is the finest English Bridle Leather from Sedgwick and company, located in Walsall, England. Sedgwick has produced vegetable-tanned leathers since its founding in 1900 and uses the highest quality hides from the UK and Ireland. The waxy grain is one of the most distinguishable characteristics of the leather. Sedgwick leathers are 'true' vegetable-tanned English Bridle leathers and incredibly unique. It is one of the most premium vegetable tanned leathers in the world. Once we have selected the leather, we look for a thickness between 9 to 10 ounces. One piece of leather 9 to 10 ounces will last for years without coming apart. Then we hand cut to straighten the full length of leather and with a draw knife we hand strip either an 11/4” or 11/2’’ wide strap. Then it is cut to length and holes punched for the buckle and the buckle tongue. We hand cut the strap ends to an English point and hand edge all the edges. We finish by sewing completely around the belt twice for an elegant look. Once this is finished, we will hand slick and dye the edges, hand rub, and slick again to make the edges of your belt slick and smooth. We apply a clear edge coat to give your belt a finished elegant look. Lastly, we add a heavy stainless steel buckle and leather belt loop with two Chicago screws. This truly handmade belt is why we consider your belt to be one of the finest leather belts in the world. When all is acceptable, I sign your belt for certificate of originality. Every Belt is handmade one at a time after the order is placed. All of my belts are unique and hand-signed just for you. Thank you for letting me make your next belt. English bridle leather was and still is tanned to be some of the most beautiful, strongest leather in the world. English bridle leather was first tanned for use in horse bridles in England, hence the name, English bridle leather. It has in the past few years became the premier leather used in high quality, high-end men's and ladies belts and accessories. J/B Signature

How it’s Made

When buying handmade products, you are paying for more than just the physical item itself. Here are some of the things you might be paying for:

1. Time spent on designing: Handmade products often involve a significant amount of time spent on the design process to ensure a unique and individual result.

2. Time spent on searching for needed materials: Artisans may spend a considerable amount of time sourcing the perfect materials for their creations, sometimes traveling to find them.

3. Actual creation of the product: Handmade items are crafted with care and precision, often taking hours or even days to complete.

4. Finishing and packaging: Handmade products usually receive extra attention to detail when it comes to finishing touches and the presentation of the final product.

5. Cleaning up the mess created: The creative process can be messy, and artisans often spend time tidying up and maintaining their workspace.

6. Delivery or shipping fees: Depending on the location of the artisan, there may be additional costs associated with shipping or delivering the product to the customer.

7. Hours of failures: Handmade products require trial and error, and craftsmen may invest numerous hours into perfecting their technique or resolving issues that arise.

8. Hours of experimentation: Artisans often take risks and explore new techniques or new materials.

9. Unique and personalized touch: When purchasing a handmade item, you are getting a unique and one-of-a-kind piece. Each item is crafted with attention to detail and can be personalized to your preferences, making it truly special.

10. Supporting local artisans: By purchasing handmade products, you are directly supporting local artisans and their businesses. This helps to sustain their livelihoods and contributes to the growth of their community.

11. Durability and longevity: Handmade items are often made with higher quality materials and superior craftsmanship, resulting in a product that is built to last. Unlike mass-produced items, which are often made with cheaper materials and methods to reduce costs, handmade items are designed to withstand the test of time.

12. Environmental impact: Handmade products are generally more sustainable and have a lower environmental impact compared to mass-produced items. Artisans often use eco-friendly materials and production methods, and they have a smaller carbon footprint due to limited transportation and manufacturing processes.

13. Connection to the maker: When you purchase a handmade item, you have the opportunity to connect directly with the maker. This allows you to ask questions, make special requests, and even learn more about the process behind the creation of your item.

14. Quality assurance: Handmade items often come with a higher quality
