Meet the Maker
I'm Julie Vesely. My "Altar Ego" is the part of me that longs to connect ~ to my Inner Self, to Nature, and to Others. "Earth Prayers" reflect and hold the energy of my need to make order from disorder, my love of color and beauty, and my desire to share myself and what I see with others.
I create Earth Prayers from bits of nature that I collect on meditative walks in my city, on nearby mountain hikes, on vacation in the Pacific Northwest, and in the Southwest! It is a practice of attention, awe, and non-attachment.
I hope Earth Prayers will inspire connection and a desire to care for our Mother Earth. Perhaps you will create your own Earth Prayers! And I hope you'll love them as I do!
How it’s Made
I went to Oregon last summer to go camping at Silver Springs with my husband, our adult son, and his son (my squishy-cute grandson)! Unfortunately, I caught Covid on the plane ride to Oregon, and our camping trip was cut short. Boo! But, on the day and night we were there in that beautiful place, I was fascinated (perhaps in my delirium) with the vast variety of green leaves all around me! I brought as many as I could home with me between the pages of a book, and created this piece while quarantined at home. I do love it. I hope you do, too.
