About this Product

This gnome may be small but he knows bright colors will attract his beloved butterflies. From his ombre teal suit to his multicolored hat he and his Tiger Swallowtail (state butterfly of NC, SC, and GA) and Endangered Monarch are beautiful down to the last detail. The wood circle is upcycled from downed tree branches and pyrography (woodburning) is used to create intricate details that are finished off in hand painted acrylic paint. The ornament measures 2 3/8"x 2 3/8". The ornament is hung with a tiny eye screw and jute twine finished off with a purple fabric ribbon. (2021)

Geeky Girl Pixels

Meet the Maker

Having taught Special Education and raised 2 boys, I have always found comfort and escape in unfettered creation, mostly upcycling things that I find. I have cross-stitched since I was a child and then found a passion for pyrography, wood burning gnomes and then hand painting them, mostly in natural settings. But most of my recent pastime has been more in the crafting, thus evolving into my geeky girl pixel earrings, necklaces, ornaments, and shadowboxes. Of course including my love of gnomes but extending to my other hobbies, cooking (foods), gardening (nature and animals), and the pop culture I have grown to love as I have spent time with my boys (Star Wars, Marvel, Dr. Who, etc.) When I'm not crafting, you can find me hiking with my husband and boys, reading mystery novels, listening to my favorite artists, Need to Breathe, Ben Rector, Cody Fry, Third Day, and so many more! I'm also missing by 2 labs, but loving on my mom and her sweet mini dachshund.
