Meet the Maker

I am a mixed Media Artist that gravitates toward texture and movement. I enjoy working with modeling paste and oil/ soft pastel along with charcoal, acrylic & oil paint to create a unique flow either in short burst or thick long flowing strokes. The tools I use are mainly based on my mood at the time working on a piece, could be anything from a brush / trowel / paper towel, string or even fingers. I love to experiment by using different mediums.

It is important for me to feel like I’m on a never-ending journey of discovery and paint people and places how I see and feel them and also to take the viewer with me.

I have always kept art quiet in me, never really showing it to anyone, feeling like people won’t like it or make fun of it. I would bury a drawing in the back of a book or toss it in a desk drawer even throw it in the trash. Back in 2022 thru the encouragement of my wife and kids I joined The Towson Art Collective and participated in my 1st Gallery Showing (not a solo show) and since then I have participated in additional Gallery Shows. I am sincerely enjoying my artistic journey; I am very grateful to all the incredibly creative artists that I had the pleasure of meeting these past 2 years and I look forward to creating new and innovative pieces that will inspire young and old artist a like so they can start or continue on their artistic journey.

Growing up in Baltimore in the 70’s and 80’s was a unique time for me, I gravitated to the local skate scene and developed a strong admiration of the local graffiti artist. I can remember riding in the car with my dad and seeing these amazing murals and words depicted on various buildings, underpasses and streets…but like everything else you grow and taste changes, I now also enjoy visiting all the amazing local museums and galleries, discovering new artists and different genres of art. Don’t get me wrong - I still love driving around the city and seeing some cool murals and even take my family along in the hopes of discovering a new piece- we also still on occasion visit Graffiti Alley in the City.
