About this Product

Crochet that looks like knitting, written PATTERN works up soft and delicate using a little over an ounce of fingering weight, lightweight sock yarn. (. 6 oz, approximately 80 yards) Stretchy with a thumb gusset for additional comfort, it is a fast, simple, crochet project that will keep hands warm and pretty at the computer, relaxing at home, or to send as a gift. (fits in an envelope!)
I liked the ease of making crochet fingerless gloves, but didn't like the bulk, tightness at the thumb opening, and lack of stretch, so I worked up several pairs before coming up with this pattern which looks and feels very much like knitting.

For advanced beginners, familiar with written terms and abbreviations as chain stitch, half-double, front loop, slip stitch, single crochet. You will need about 160 yards of light-weight yarn to finish both gloves.

The Pattern is written for a wrist size 6", or a small, and is easily adjusted by working more rows.

How it’s Made

I wanted light gloves that could be worn inside during the winter without bulk or restricting hand and thumb movements. I also wanted to be able to slip them over gloves for extra warmth outside, quick and easily made. So, using bits of yarn I had from sock and lace knitting (and gifted yarn), I made several pairs, and made countless attempts at writing a clear pattern, (I can always MAKE a crochet pattern work, but writing it down using standard terms was a whole new ball game for me!), learned a new word processing program ( I learned to start using DOS to open back, back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth), and how to transfer files to a shop. (School of Art and Design in the real world, laughing out loud, smiley face, heart).
