About this Product
Lincoln and Lady is a historically accurate telling of Abraham Lincoln's visit to Gettysburg, PA in November 1863 as seen through the eyes of a little ladybug. This book is geared towards children ages 5-8.
Lady is Abraham Lincoln's friend who goes on an adventure with him to Gettysburg and is a witness to the historic battlefield and his famous speech. The illustrator, Sarah, was a junior in high school when we collaborated on this venture. A portion of the sales will be donated to local charities. The book will be signed by me, the author. If you would like it signed for someone special, please let me know.
Castaway Crafts
Meet the Maker
Hello! Thank you for visiting my shop. I am a retired high school teacher who cares deeply for animals. I have always loved making crafts, so I decided to take my joy for crafting and use it for the benefit of my local animal shelter. At least 50% of my sales are donated to my local animal rescue.
I participate in local craft shows and bazaars but would like to reach a larger audience.
As you browse my shop, you will see that I enjoy many different mediums. On any given day, I may be painting, knitting, crocheting, sewing or anything else that strikes my fancy.
If you are local to me (25 mile radius), contact me via email and I will give a discount as we would be able to forego shipping costs.
I thank you in advance for making a purchase from my shop and helping rescued animals.
How it’s Made
This book was researched and written by me while I was teaching reading to my high school class. I projected it on a smart board and used it as the example for my students to use while they wrote their books for Read Across America. My illustrator was a junior in high school when she collaborated with me. We then took our books to our elementary class to read our stories to them. The only difference was that my book had been printed at a local publisher.
