About this Product
Listen to Nature

Edges are painted black, painting can be framed but comes to you without a frame, ready to hang.
"The artwork depicts a vibrant scene rich with symbolism and visual storytelling."
In this story, Nature is begging us to listen to her. Her voice is loud and clear, we need to hear the land, the air and the water. We can do our part to live close to Mother Nature and care for her. It can be as simple as picking up garbage, when we're in the forest or at a fishing access site.
The woman and her animals in this painting know how to live close to the land. You can feel their contentment as they live at home with the eagle, the sun and the earth.
"One of the notable strengths of this piece is its dynamic composition. The artist skillfully balances various elements, from the energetic motion of the horse to the commanding presence of the eagle. The color palette is both vibrant and harmonious, enhancing the emotional depth of the painting. The use of symbols such as the eagle and the sun adds layers of meaning, inviting viewers to engage with the cultural and spiritual narratives embodied in the artwork."
For many years my paintings were created from looking at my photos. I painted pet portraits, horses, deer, elk.... Gradually, I sensed my paintings wanted to become something different, something that came from "inside" me, not from an external source. As I layer paint intuitively on the canvas, a story emerges and the finished product is what you will see.
In the layers of the painting, there are ancient symbols with deep meaning and all the joy I can add while creating these works. I hope the paintings bring you a feeling of joy and an awareness of nature.
Shipping is free. I do accept returns, but the paintings must return to me in excellent condition within 7 days and the purchaser pays return shipping.

Meet the Maker
DonnaRidgwayArt
Donna Ridgway grew up in Montana near a little town called Dupuyer. Her life was filled with animals and caring for the land.
She and her husband, Robert are now retired and spend their time camping, four wheeling, taking photos of wildlife, creating art and caring for their home. Her studio is in the back yard, and she spends a lot of time there, just creating art and letting ideas come to life.
Donna is a member of the Western Heritage Artists and participates in their annual show at Western Art Week in Great Falls, Montana. You can see her there at the Heritage Inn, usually in room 105. She's also a member of Montana Made products, and Cowgirl Artists of America.
More of her original paintings can be seen at Equis Art Gallery in Red Hook, New York. Choteau Arts in Choteau, Montana. Paris Gibson Museum, in Great Falls, Montana
She's a self taught artist who's drawn and painted her entire life.

How it’s Made
I use artist grade acrylic paints and charcoal, sometimes acrylic markers on either wooden panels or stretched canvas. Some paintings might contain copper wire, or elements of collage.
My paintings are created "intuitively" by adding random colors, and layers with designs, patterns and marks. As I build up layers, a story emerges in the painting and the final elements are added.
I ship the paintings using as many recycled products as possible. I sandwich the paintings between layers of cardboard and ship them USPS as we live near a small town with a simple local post office.
All my work is copyrighted by me and may not be reproduced in any fashion.
Shop Policies
I create fine art paintings that are made from artist grade materials. I love Golden and Liquitex paints. My paintings are mostly on stretched canvas, sometimes on wooden panels.
Other items I make might not be from archival materials, such as faces made from toilet paper rolls! But the products are made with care and if treated as art, they will last a very long time.
I do not do commissioned work.
