Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
Each mug is hand-built from clay slabs, impressed with textured rollers to create the patterned background. The ghost medallion is sculpted separately, then carefully attached and detailed with carved features and layered underglazes for depth and character. After drying, the mug is bisque-fired, glazed with multiple colors, and then fired again to over 2300°F. The result is a durable, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe piece of art that’s meant for everyday enjoyment.
