About this Product
The Louisiana Music Map professionally mounted in a custom handmade wood frame made of Sinker Cypress from Louisiana. Sinker cypress is one of the rarest and most sought after wood in the United States. It is recovered from the bottom of swamps where it has laid for hundreds of years. The natural tannins in the swamp and mud preserve the heartwood of the log and create a rich natural patina and very distinctive grain patterns. The wood was recovered from the swamps of the Atchafalaya Basin which produces the most desirable Sinker Cypress in Louisiana.
The frame is finished with a protective coating to retain the beautiful look of the grain. The overall dimensions are approximately 34.5" L x 28.5" H. The frame was handmade in Lafayette, Louisiana.
All frames feature unbreakable Gallery UV-protective styrene to prevent damage in shipping. All frames are sealed on the back with a dust cover and have hanging hardware installed making it ready to hang! Please note that every frame is unique due to variations of the wood such as knots, color and grain patterns. Your exact frame will resemble the one shown but will not be exact.
