Meet the Maker

My story fueled 100% on the strength of creativity an exploring which is what goimagine seems to be all about.

Back in the early 90s, the journey for my custom printed online business started in a cozy attic apartment at Thorndike and S. Spring in Concord, NH, where my first PC found its way into my possession. At that moment, the concept of its capabilities eluded me entirely; as the closest I had ever been to a computer had been at Shaw’s checkout.

With an empty toolbox in hand, a trade offer surfaced – the computer for my toolbox. In my cluelessness, the deal seemed fair, and thus began the addiction as I delved into self-teaching DOS on an IBM 8088 boasting a colossal 20-meg hard drive.

The allure of working with images and designing layouts like restaurant menus, business cards, and flyers for acquaintances sparked my interest, all purely for entertainment.

Around ’93/’94, the introduction to Dye Sublimation printing, famously known from the mall Photo mug booths seen around the holiday season, marked the beginning of a new chapter.

Lacking the knack for salesmanship and facing limited points of sale due to a lack of public accessibility, I relied mainly on word-of-mouth for exposure.

The mid-90s witnessed the Internet evolving beyond mere AOL or CompuServe file servers, prompting me to venture into building my inaugural website to kick-start my Home Businesses Online – all undertaken as experimental projects.

The birth name “Elso” was stumbled on purely by accident as I was toying around with the letters of my name, Nelson. Looking to create a logo from letters, I took the 2 “N”s from my name to see what sort of interesting shape I could create when the middle letters “elso” hit me square in the face, thus Elso Graphics was adopted and www.elsographics.com emerged, with its future offspring www.1nhmugs.com, specializing in personalized photo mugs and other customized drink-ware, making its way into the picture later on.

Developing a functional website capable of selling fully customized prints with customer-provided images and text proved to be a daunting challenge with my self taught, learn as I grow approach. I toiled on the concept of web site forms and the learning curve moving toward intricate and dynamic multi-page forms for years with successful results.

Then around 2004 when the notion of utilizing a series of 1NH domain names struck me – leveraging the alphabetical advantage of “1” preceding “A” for potential SEO benefits back then.

While the 1NH concept was not extensively explored, except for 1NHMugs.com, it did allow for fruitful competition with Elso Graphics, spurring innovative strategies and technological implementations that benefited both entities.

Around the turn of the decade the decline of elsographics.com in search engine rankings became evident due to the growing importance of mobile-friendliness, a feature lacking in the outdated Elso Graphics website.

Having no desire on upgrading an old flip phone to a smartphone, it became a necessity for the survival of www.elsographics.com in the task of retrofitting Elso Graphics for mobile compatibility which posed a new significant challenge under my DIY approach for my home business online.

Reviving the dormant 1NHMugs, I revamped the entire ordering system from scratch, on my trial and error approach so as to not interrupt the very few stragglers stumbling onto elsographics.com.

Retaining and building the successes and filtering out the fails from the 1NHMugs project, the new Elso Graphics site emerged.

This is my narrative.

Specializing in custom printing, 1NHMugs centers around personalized printing on drink-ware, where as elsographics.com revolves around a wide selection of items staged for custom printing, offering unique services like customizing various mugs to cater to diverse needs – whether it’s a company seeking personalized coffee mugs or mouse pads bearing the corporate logo and employee names or individuals desiring bespoke gifts.

Leveraging dye sublimation technology without color limitations and with the flexibility to print single mugs or bulk orders, Elso Graphics stands as an exclusive internet-based personalized printing service, catering to the domestic US market.

For those seeking authentic “Made in USA” photo mugs, I proudly stand among the select few mug printers holding this label. Please note, not all of the gift items I print are made in USA, so if Made in USA is important to you, the be sure to product descriptions as US Made items will be specifically identified with those items.

While shipping is available across the USA, local Concord, NH residents can arrange pickups or deliveries on a case-by-case basis. I have 2 local to Concord NH merchants who agreed to pose as local pickup spots.

Designs and layouts for print are 100% joint effort of you, the customer and myself. I specialize in photo repair, manipulations and layout ideas for the purpose of helping to bring your vision to life. You can reassure that all printing with very rare exceptions like excessively high volume (which is not something I expect to see here on goimagine) is all done by me personally.

The single asset that sets me apart from most other printers is my unwavering commitment captured in my slogan, “Personalized Service For Your Personalized Gifts!”

How it’s Made

What defines "Handmade" I feel is more on the lines of the personal attention given to the creation of a finished product. This personal attention takes a creative mind.

Some may think things like "photo mugs" would not actually be classified as handmade since a computer plays a huge roll in the creation. In itself, that would be true, especially with the bulk of custom printed mugs you may find on Etsy where the seller is simply a middleman collecting photos etc then sending it off to a 3rd party printer who then drop ships back to the customer. This is NOT the case here with Elso Graphics.

Beyond the fact that these USA mugs are 100% Made in USA with domestic sourced clay for the ceramic, the service before production I offer is unmatched by anyone. You actually communicate your design vision with me personally. I will then recreate your vision while offering some creative tweaks and ideas showing you visuals along the way.

I get it. many may not really know the potential of what's possible. Perhaps you have a nice photo of your child but in a not too appeasing setting. Well I have the tools and experience to manually extract your child from the photo and place him/her in a more present setting. This process is done manually, NOT using any kind of AI or anything.

Perhaps you have an old tattered photo that you would like to restore for printing on your mug, I will manually retouch and repair your photo for print, again, NOT with AI.

The only real limit here is the imagination!

Once your mug design is ready for print, I will then send a mockup virtual proof of your creation for your final inspection (again, NO AI involved!).

This whole process can take anywhere from a only a few correspondences to several and usually at no additional cost.

The singly biggest part of this service, that nobody offers, is I never require the purchase until we are ready to actually lay down the ink and print your mug. There is never any obligation to purchase until YOU decide you are ready.

First step to creation is to contact me with your ideas, question and as much detail as you can think of, then watch things unfold from there.

Shop Policies

Elso Graphics stand firm in strict compliance with Copyright laws.

What does this mean for our customers?

I have full right to deny the printing of any image that I feel would be in violation of any copyright laws. All images for print submitted to Elso Graphics by our customers are considered copyright material owned either by our customer or by a third party. In such event that an image would be owned by a third party, we would require permission, in writing by the third party allowing us to reproduce for the sole purpose of our customer’s purpose.

Examples of third party copyright images would include the obvious of sport logos or company trademarks, but also include the less obvious of images pulled from any web site. If there is ever any question about copyright ownership of images submitted for print, we will assume the image is protected and will not print until verification of ownership can be established. If you are unsure if something can be printed, please contact me before placing your order. Reason to ask first is because the companies that process the payment (PayPal, Stripe etc) do not refund their processing fees if I initiate refunds. Any refund request not due to my inability to complete will be amount paid less any processing fees that are not refundable.

All copyright laws also apply to any customer submitted image free from third party ownership in that the customer can be ensured their submitted design will never be made available in any form to anyone except the assumed owner of the image.

Elso Graphics does however retain copies of all prints on file for the sole purpose of reprints requested by the assumed owner. Elso Graphics will remove and delete all prints for any customer in our system upon request of the assumed owner. Occasionally, I may request permission from a customer to allow me to display their image on a particular product for display purpose only. It is our customer’s choice to allow or deny us the requested permission or to set forth additional conditions for me to use their image. These conditions may be a simple copyright acknowledgement or could be to include a web site links back to the owner’s web site. In any event, Elso Graphics will remain in strict compliance with all copyright laws.

Occasionally, a customer may request a written document addressed to them and signed by me ensuring the protection of their submitted image. In such cases, it is customary and the customer’s responsibility to supply me with such documents to sign and return.

Shipping policy:

All shipments are insured and in the rare event of a lost or damaged package we will, as a courtesy, assist you from start to finish in filing claims as needed to recover for damaged or lost purchases.

You, as the buyer, are obligated to provide photos and other required documents to me within 5 days of delivery for me to assist with the recovery.

As a precautionary measure when ordering anything potentially breakable such as ceramic tiles or coffee mugs, it is always a good idea to take some pictures of the package before opening. This especially true if the package shows any signs of rough handling such as damaged corners or tares to the outer mailing box. At least one photo must legibly show the shipping label.

Additional photos of the unpacking is also highly recommended.

This way, in the rare event damage occurred while in transit, you will have the needed photos to send me so I can do a fast reprint to get a replacement right out to you. Any additional questions or concerns, please contact me.

Processing Time:

Processing time will vary based on timely e-mail communications. Since what I do is 100% custom design, correspondence between you and myself could consist of only 1 or 2 e-mails or several. When an order is placed, I will direct the customer to an off-site form (if needed) to collect all specific details for the item being custom printed. For example, if a mug or stein is being ordered, you may have one or more photos to be printed. I would need to know where an how the photos should be arranged. I will need to know what to print on which side of the mug. If there is to be text added, things like font, font color, size, placement and manipulation would enter the design process. There are many potential variables with my custom printing service that are beyond the ability of the goimage order system. If your request is simple, such as just a single photo and perhaps some text or a name, then goimage input might suffice very well. But in any event there would still be some correspondence that could affect the processing time since anything I print, would first require a virtual proof/preview to be approved before I will actually print the gift.

Conclusion is, my response time to initiate and correspondence is less then 12 hours. Once a design has been approved, ir would 1 to 3 days typically to produce and ship.

Return Policy:

Due to the nature of the service I offer in that once an item has been printed it can not be recycled or resold, all sales are final. Of course if you discover a flaw or blemish that slipped passed my inspection, I will do whatever is needed to make it right.

FAQ's:

As you ask me questions, I will both answer you personally and post your question with the answer here to help others who may have the same question.
