About this Product

Dragonflies have a deep meaning for me.  They symbolize transformation (from egg to larvae to beautiful flying insect), strength (they are powerful flyers that can go up to 45 mph), vision (their compound eyes have thousands of lenses and can see in almost every direction) and joy.

I created this pendant by weaving together copper wire and malachite beads of various sizes. Malachite is a stone of healing and transformation; it is patterned and banded in varying shades of deep green.

This pendant is about 2 ½ inches (about 6cm) long.  The cord is round vegan suede, with a handmade clasp. It can be adjusted up to about 22 inches (56 cm). To shorten, just hold onto the barrel knot and gently pull on the main part of the cord.  To lengthen, hold the barrel knot and gently pull on the loop coming out of the knot (one end will move, the other is held in place by the knot).

The pendant has a non-tarnish coating to protect the finish. If you avoid getting it wet, the coating will last longer. If it wears off over time, you can use the polishing cloth I included in the box.

If something happens to your pendant, please feel free to contact me via Etsy or by sending an email to cobaltdragonflyart@gmail.com.  If you return the item to me (at your cost) I will do my best to repair and return it to you at no additional cost to you.

Meet the Maker

I got in trouble for doodling mandalas at school, even though I didn’t know the word “mandala” at the time. I love to create art and jewelry, sometimes drawing on spiritual traditions such as the paganism of my ancestors in Lithuania.

I’ve never met a craft I didn’t like, but wire weaving jewelry is my favorite.  I am fascinated by different stones, their colors, patterns, their shimmer or flash, and their symbolism. When I start working with a stone, I visualize and sketch the style of setting that feels right. Then I have fun figuring out how to connect all the elements.  The actual process of weaving is both meditative and deeply satisfying.

It is always my hope that after a piece comes together, the wearer will feel some of the joy I felt in the creative process.
