OUR PRODUCT --> This large 17" by 12" by 1" handmade maple cutting board is made with the highest quality material and workmanship. Beautifully handcrafted, these designer chopping boards are a timeless statement piece. THE PROCESS --> All our products are handcrafted in our Texas workshop. Each piece of lumber is milled to size and then glued together using a food-safe wood adhesive. Any personalization is then added individually, by hand, with love via our wood burning process. The boards then take a bath in pure, food-safe mineral oil. After giving the board time to absorb the oil, any excess is removed, and the board is then waxed with our homemade 100% beeswax board butter, so it arrives ready to use immediately. Rubber feet are then added to the bottom of the board to create a more secure working area.
PERSONALIZATION --> These boards are 100% customizable! Our photos feature a split monogram design, but we are happy to work with you to make your vision come to life! Please message us with any questions or specific design requests. All personalization is completed entirely by hand. We apply a food-safe, wood burning gel to the board using a custom stencil. Then we bring your design to life by applying heat! Please allow 3-5 business days once your design has been finalized for us to personalize and seal the cutting board prior to shipping.

ABOUT US --> BCA Design Company was founded in 2020 after 7 years of handcrafting custom wood pieces for my own Southern California home. Thankfully, I have a loyal group of wonderful clients locally who have allowed me to turn my woodworking hobby into a small business by ordering large-scale pieces, such as interior and exterior tables, wood mobile coolers, and furniture pieces. In handcrafting these pieces, I came to realize how much lumber was going to waste. I couldn’t bear to throw away such stunning pieces of wood because these designs needed to be cut down to a custom size. This is why I chose to expand my small business to Etsy. Putting a little time and love into these wood scraps meant I could repurpose them into smaller pieces that could be shipped to a larger audience looking for upscale hardwood designs. We know you will see the care we put into these pieces and value our earth-friendly mission to prevent these magnificent hardwoods full of character from ending up in the landfill.
Please note that wood is a natural material with diverse patterning and color. As a result of using repurposed and salvaged wood, your item may differ slightly from photos. All our wood burning is completed individually, by hand, with love. Variations should be expected and treasured as unique elements. All wood products will need reconditioning with use. We recommend our handcrafted board butter, to be re-applied every 2-3 weeks, as needed. Wood products are not dishwasher safe and should be kept away from hot surfaces such as stovetops.
