About this Product

Celebrate Votes For Women! with suffragist Mary S. Anthony.

Designed specifically for redwork embroidery, this simple line drawing is perfect for hand embroidery, as a relaxing coloring page, or combine the two and create a one-of-a-kind, crayon tinted, embroidered masterpiece.

About this pattern: Mary S. Anthony (1827-1907) was born along the Battenkill River near Greenwich, NY in rural Washington County. Anthony taught school near her hometown, & then in Rochester where she was promoted to principal. She was the first female principal in Rochester to earn equal pay alongside her two male counterparts. In 1872, Anthony, her sister Susan, & a handful of other women voted in the election of 1872. Some of the women were arrested, but only Susan B. Anthony was forced to stand trial, where she was found guilty of voting illegally. Both Anthonys would never legally cast a ballot before their deaths.
