Mashed Potato squash seeds (treated and untreated available):
This striking white squash resembles an acorn squash, but with a rounded end. This delicious squash is bright white inside and out. When baked or roasted and then mashed, they resemble mashed potatoes. These are an excellent alternative to potatoes as the carbohydrate count is lower and this squash is nutrient-dense.
The flavor has been described as silky, and subtly sweet. These make striking ornamentals, but a true appreciation of this squash is best expressed on the dinner table. These are best served roasted, baked, or steamed.
Each vine bears 3-4 fruits each weighing around 1.5-2.75 lb. Squash should be ready around the 100-105 day mark.
*If you choose treated seeds, these are seeds that have been dusted with a sulfur-based fungicide ( anti-fungus) compound that will prevent mildew and disease on your plants, increase plant growth, improve the root system, and increase fruit yield. Treated seeds will benefit the growth and protection of the plant. The plants will be safe for pollinators, and beneficial insects, and for consumption, if you grew an edible variety.
