About this Product
Derived from the word "trancher" the trencher was originally a flat piece of stale bread used as a primitive plate. By the 14th century wood or pewter trencher plates were being made and featured a raised edge to hold in all those delicious sauces.
The Birchouse Woodcrafts trencher is based on examples from the 15th century and is made from a variety of woods. Measuring 7 inches, these plates will look great in your dining room or at the campsite.
This trencher is made from Osage Orange.
