Tender Distractions

  • My woodworking consists of bowls, bandsaw boxes, intarsia items, pyrography and more. My resin items are trinket boxes, plaques, keepsake boxes, figurines and more. Some are made with a combination of wood and resin and some are made with Resincrete (a powdered resin product like plaster but stronger). I also enjoy making notebooks and journals.

How it’s Made

The process for making these combination bowls is quite extensive. It involves combining the items in a mold; adding the colored resin; putting the mold in a pressure pot; removing the item from the mold then placing it on my lathe where it is made into the bowl shape you see in my photos.
