Meet the Maker

Elise Beckett Russell is the founder and creative director of "The Piano Curriculum Series".  Established in 2004, her materials have won critical acclaim among teachers all over the world.  Her books; The Piano Lesson Companion Books and Piano World offer students a well-rounded music education.  In 2011, she developed PCS Piano Proficiency Examinations, offering an alternative to other testing systems.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Natalia da Roza, Elise received her Bachelor of Music Education and began teaching in 1977.  She spent several years as a public school music teacher and then opened a private piano studio in 1980.  Her focus has aways been on developing and implementing new curriculums.

Mrs. Russell resides in Sugar Land, Texas and continues to maintain a small, but active piano studio.  Many of her students have gone on to work in the music industry, including teaching and performing.  She is a member of the National Music Teachers Association, the Texas Music Teachers Association and is the current president of the Texas Lone Star Online Music Teachers Association.  Among her honors, she has been featured in The Oustanding Young Women of America 1981, Who's Who's of American Women 2000, Who's Who in the World 2004 and subsequent issues.  In 2017 Mrs. Russell was a the recipient of the ALBERT NELSON MARQUIS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENTS AWARD.
