Mughal Flowers and Vase #1 is a floral cross-stitch reproduction sampler that includes purple roses and red tulips inspired by 17th-century Mughal art. The pattern originates from a Kashmir, Indian ceramic tile, which is one of four patterns (see listing photo for how this pattern fits together in the series). The chart includes full cross stitches only and is designed for intermediate-level stitchers with some counted cross-stitch experience. This pattern is perfect for summer and spring projects. Or, you could even stitch this during the fall and winter months to brighten your days.

Hello and welcome to Ancient Sage Designs!
I am Shazeeda, the embroidery designer and owner of this little shop. Many generations removed from the Indian subcontinent, I am from ‘the land of many waters’, Guyana in South America. Not knowing where my Indian ancestors came from, I am drawn to the artifacts in museums that have been displaced from their native homelands. I am inspired by centuries-old architectural tiles, ceramics, and textile patterns.
Drawing from the artistry of the Ottoman, Mughal, Mauryan, Roman, and Egyptian empires, I love transforming ancient and natural patterns into cross-stitch embroidery charts and crafting the models you see in this shop's product listings. I enjoy showcasing the beauty of our world's cultural and natural histories through embroidery art.
