Mystery box contains a 6 yard bow similar to the ones pictured. Box will include a mystery shirt, handmade piece of jewelry such as earrings, a necklace charm or bracelet, and a handmade Christmas ornament during the holiday season. The fun is the surprise that comes with the order.
Items in pictures are examples of what may be in your mystery box. Due to each item being individually created, no 2 items will be exactly alike.
Use drop down / request box to make any special request for your mystery bag i.e. type animal you love or color/type of flower you like. We will try our best to accomodate requests made so that your mystery bag can be personalized to you.

Meet the Maker
My passions include exotic animals and making crafty items. When it comes to being creative and making crafts, I fall into the category of “jack of all trades, master of none.” But if I make enough, I could be a master of all (LOL!). I have ADHD and feel the need to be continuously on the move. Creating quality craft products help keep my mind at ease. In fact, I have so many ideas and craft products that it can be hard to manage. One day, my husband suggested that I need to narrow my store down to a few items to make it easier to mass produce. From that idea, I have shifted to making mystery bags/boxes full of surprises. The fun of the mystery bags is not just the surprise inside but that each individual item has its own personality. As our store grows, we will be adding these items individually for purchase.
Lyda May’s Attic (Lyda May’s) is birth from our other business, “Life on the Hedge”. “Life on the Hedge” was started from our passion to help rescued and relinquished hedgehogs. Over time, our passion grew from hedgehogs to other exotic animals such as chameleons and other reptiles. In 2015, We saw a need arise when we learned that rescuers were paying out of the pocket expenses to house and care for hedgehogs around the world. Our goal was to money through selling t-shirts and “Life on the Hedge” was born.
We soon realized that t-shirts were not enough. We opened Lyda May’s in 2021, with the hopes of doing more. The idea of Lyda May’s is the image of one rummaging through grandma’s attic and seeing all the embroideries, patches, and other craft items that she had stored, with the desire of one day completing an unfinished product. Lyda May’s is that place! With antique jewelry pieces, bows and so much more, Lyda May’s is sure to be your nostalgic feeling of grandma’s attic with an up-to date twist…mystery boxes and more.
How it’s Made
Wired ribbon is used to make the wreath Bow. This makes it easier to store and reuse. The shirt is printed with our own designs. When ordering, select preferred color of shirt. Jewelry is hand-made with resin or beads. Local flowers from South Carolina are used in our charms.
