How it’s Made

PETG 3D prints are made through a process called Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), where PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified) filament is used as the printing material. Here's how it works step-by-step:

? Step-by-Step PETG 3D Printing Process:

  1. Design the Model: A 3D model is created using CAD software like Fusion 360, Blender, or Tinkercad.

  2. Slice the Model: The design is imported into slicing software (like Cura or PrusaSlicer), which converts it into G-code – instructions the 3D printer can follow.

  3. Load the Filament: PETG filament is fed into the printer's extruder. PETG typically prints at around 220°C to 250°C on the hotend and 70°C to 90°C on the heated bed.

  4. Printing: The printer heats the nozzle and bed, then extrudes the filament layer by layer to build the object from the bottom up.

  5. Cooling and Post-Processing: Once the print is done, it's allowed to cool. Supports, if any, are removed, and the surface can be sanded or polished depending on the finish desired.
