About this Product
About as natural as you can get (the ingredients each score well with the Environmental Working Group (EWG)), this laundry soap does the job well! With as little as 1 tablespoon, you can have clean laundry (washing machine and water required ?). A 32 oz quart jar contains 64 tablespoons' worth and can wash up to 64 loads, depending on the size and soil-level.
It's better for you (and the planet), and cheaper, than the name brands!
Instructions: Use 1-2 TBSP for a small/medium load, 2-3 TBSP for a medium/large load, and 3-4 TBSP for an especially large or smelly/dirty load.
Ingredients: sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda (sodium carbonate, water), Molly's Suds Oxygen Whitener (sodium percarbonate, sodium carbonate, citric acid, lemon oil), Kirk's Original Fragrance-Free Coco Castile Soap (sodium cocoate, water, glycerin, sodium chloride, sodium gluconate), citric acid, pure essential oil*
*Essential oils only used in scented versions, not in unscented ones.
**The majority of the essential oils I use are from a company called Simply Earth. They do GC/MS testing on each batch of oils to ensure purity, and donate 13% of their profits to anti-human trafficking organizations. They also have a monthly oils recipe box that has a lot of goodies! If you would like to purchase a recipe box from them, please email me at thehavenfarmstead@outlook.com to get a referral code for a free bonus box (worth $40) and $10 off your first 5 months of recipe boxes.
The Haven Farmstead
How it’s Made
To make this natural laundry soap, I grate the bars of castile soap using my stand mixer and grater attachment. Then, I use my food processor to make the soap into a powder, mixing with some of the baking soda, while wearing a respirator mask for the rest of this process to avoid inhaling any powder into my lungs. Next, I pour the powder in a large container, add the essential oils, mix, add the rest of the ingredients, mix, then add to jars. Finally, I add my labels that I design and make myself!
