Beautiful natural Paraibe blue Apatite (.50ct, SI, Brazil) hand set encircled and accented with natural Zircon(.40ctw,VS,Cambodia)(Not CZ) all in 925 sterling silver ring. Apatite is the name for a mineral group as well as the generic term for many phosphates, but gem-quality apatite is a special gemstone found in a beautiful variety of colors. Apatite's various colors are often due to the presence of rare earth elements or natural irradiation. Because of its wide color range, apatite has often been mistaken for many other gemstones, including topaz, tourmaline, and various beryl varieties. Particularly rare in sizes over one carat. The long-established sources for gem-quality apatite are Brazil and Mexico, but more recent African discoveries have thrust it into the spotlight once again.
Natural Zircon is the oldest gemstone known to man. Far rarer then Diamonds. With a 9.5 MOHS, and double refactive, they rival the diamond.

I have been a small organic farmer here in Pennsylvania for over 40 yrs, raising sheep, poultry, honey bees, and organic fruits and veggies. I have worked & studied gemstones & jewelry design, as well as being a master chef owning my own restaurant. I was raised learning the "old ways" of making daily living items from my Grandmother using what we grew.
