About this Product

The Undersea is filled with stories of creatures and Christmas if you take the time to stop and listen. They include narwhals and leviathans, mermaids and krakens, and even lost treasure of Father Christmas. The folk of the Undersea are creative and welcoming and would love to be a part of your holidays (though beware, some of them are rather ornery - Kali the kraken, I’m looking at you!)

  • Mix of all creatures swinging around

  • Traditional Christmas lights with a fresh flare. Brightly colored Christmas lights, sea shells, and bubble baubles over a beachy purple background perfect for Christmas lovers and sea lovers alike.

  • Bright bluish green design with vibrant gifts and sea shells for a fun beachy Christmas

  • Evelina loves getting gifts. Really every mermaid does, but for her it doesn’t matter of it’s her 1st or 50th mug or salt lamp (both of which are useless in the sea). She will enthusiastically thank you and treasure it as long as she can.

  • Fisherman, ship capsizer and tamer of krakens were all noble professions, and Stefen was terrible at all of them. He was starting to despair when the council came to him with an intriguing offer. He was to be the undersea’s one and only Father Christmas.

  • No one was surprised when the most enthusiastic gift getter announced that she was courting the biggest gift giver of the undersea. Evelina and Stefen made a very happy couple indeed

  • Every year the undersea has a Christmas spirit competition. And every year Talitha the narwhal wins. Although she does dress up with wreaths and lights, and one year she even had elf ears and pointy shoes, everyone says the reason she wins is, “she is the embodiment of Christmas”. With her sweet, cheerful personality, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed. I have to agree.

  • Kali’s kraken ability to blend into things has gotten her out of, and into, loads of trouble. But none of her disguises were as brilliant as when she decided to camouflage herself as her favorite Christmas treat, the Swiss roll

  • Sufganiyah is not a traditional Christmas dish but, “It tastes like home,” Ira says as he munches them… I was not aware leviathans had Jewish jelly doughnuts in the depths of the sea. Nevertheless Ira can often be found chomping on them on Christmas as well as during Chanukkah.

It’s no secret that dragons hoard things. Some prefer to gain their treasures through glorious battles, others search far and wide for theirs. Doron prefers chance so it should come as no surprise that his favorite part of Chanukkah is when everyone gathers around to play dreidel, because then he has a shot at emptying everyone’s purses.

  • Most everyone knows the importance of lighthouses for the oversears, but it’s just as important for the undersears. Though not strictly necessary they cherish the way it makes their world dance with light and especially love when the Christmas lights add to that.

  • Though not in the Undersea’s realm the water citizens claim a tree for Christmas. Each year it’s in a different location, in the middle of the night those who can will sneak onto the beach, and up to a tree and decorate it (you’d be surprised by how many undersea creatures will find ways to get on land to help) leave gifts, then disappear back into the water.

  • Legend has it that there was one year Father Christmas tried to use a ship rather than the reindeer to deliver his gifts (he was in his pirate era)… and it did not work, the only evidence of this is a single treasure chest in the depths of the sea, filled with Christmas baubles and decor

  • The undersea sometimes has to be creative with how they decorate for Christmas, but they make it work, especially when they incorporate the oversear’s lost items, like anchors.

A delightfully whimsical microwave and dishwasher safe Christmas mug, standard 10 0z with the design wrapped around

* please note these are some of the first full wrap mugs that I did, there may be slightly faded spots, or the wrap may not be fully to the top or bottom. The price has been adjusted because of this. They are still cute, fully functional mugs

How it’s Made

I hand paint each image (usually with watercolor, though sometimes acrylic) on paper, and add bits of sharpie or colored pencil to make it just right.

I then digitize it, cut out all the paper looking parts from the image so that it really pops. I like to keep some of the water color drips and mistakes so it looks more like the original.

I then print it and heat press (sublimate) it onto products for you!
